The Canadian Red Cross is reaching out to residents that have been impacted and still unable to return home or still in the process of repairing/rebuilding their home.
Newfoundland & Labrador residents may also contact the Red Cross to set up a confidential appointment with a Case Manager by calling 1-833-966-4225 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. NST Monday to Friday or emailing [email protected]
The program provides financial assistance to Newfoundland and Labrador residents living in the areas most impacted by Hurricane Fiona, based on eligibility criteria developed by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Financial assistance under this program is to reimburse residents for costs already incurred for a variety of needs related to the hurricane such as property damage or clean-up. Who is eligible? This assistance is available to Newfoundland and Labrador residents with a primary residence in the following impacted communities:
Receipts must be provided and dated showing that costs were incurred between September 24, 2022 and December 15, 2022.

Thanks to the support from donors to the Hurricane Fiona appeal, the Canadian Red Cross is providing financial assistance to Newfoundland and Labrador residents that have been impacted and still unable to return home or still in the process of repairing/rebuilding their home. A one-time lump sum payment will be provided with the intention of helping these residents to meet their basic needs and support them as they work to return home or find a safe place to live.The Canadian Red Cross is reaching out to residents that have been impacted and still unable to return home or still in the process of repairing/rebuilding their home.

On behalf of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador the Canadian Red Cross is administering the Newfoundland and Labrador Support for Immediate Needs program starting October 31, 2022.The program provides financial assistance to Newfoundland and Labrador residents living in the areas most impacted by Hurricane Fiona, based on eligibility criteria developed by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Government of Newfoundland and Labrador One-Time Financial Assistance - registration now closed
On behalf of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Canadian Red Cross distributed the following one-time financial assistance to eligible households:- $1,000 per household that was temporarily evacuated from their principal residence during the storm but returned home by September 30, 2022, and as approved by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador; or
- $10,000 per household that was displaced from their principal residence but were not able to return home by September 30, 2022, and as approved by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
