Compassion on the Line: Volunteering with Friendly Calls

In the heart of the pandemic&#39;s isolation, one individual found solace in connecting with others. Dedicated and compassionate volunteer Kian started his journey into <a href="/friendlycalls"><strong>the Red Cross Friendly Calls program</strong></a> from a place of empathy and understanding. &quot;I was feeling isolated and frustrated. So, I could imagine what other people were feeling during that time. It felt intuitive to volunteer with the Friendly Calls program.&quot;<br />

Wildfires are burning in Halifax region and Shelburne County Nova Scotia, forcing people to evacuate from their homes. The Canadian Red Cross is on the ground in support of the provincial and municipal governments. We’re working together with community organizations to provide help to those who have been impacted.
